  2. Cinnamon: The best way to consume cinnamon is by wayof cinnamon tea. You may make a powder of cinnamon sticks, put a pinch of cinnamon powder in boiling water and drink tea made from it. It works best to control diabetes and tastes better than the normal tea. The fresh aroma of the tea makes a good start of the morning. Cinnamon contains a compound named Caoumarin, which may increase the risk of liver disorders. Thus, make sure you treat cinnamon like an herb and use it in an appropriate amount.

Herbal supplements: Herbal remedies for diabetes have become quite prominent today, as people are sick of consuming the expensive science based medicine, which have more side effects than the results. You may also consult your doctor to know the benefits of these herbal medicines. Herbs are natural and taste better than the above two remedies. These are easy to carry, even while you are travelling. You may check with your doctor for the appropriate dosage of these supplements, according to the type of diabetes you are suffering from.
  4. Fenugreek: Fenugreek is again an herb and a form of spice, that controls your diabetes. It improves the tolerance of glucose levels and lowers the blood sugar levels due to its hypoglycemic activity. As a recipe, you may soak two tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water overnight. Drink the water with the seeds every morning on an empty stomach. This is a good alternative if you do not wish to drink the bitter gourd juice.
